Togetherness in a tiny craft
UX writing sits in a small, peculiar corner of the world. We’re a rare breed, hammering out words that make interfaces sing. Yet, if we want our craft to grow—really grow—we can’t stay siloed. This niche thrives when we connect, swap ideas, and push each other forward. Competition keeps us sharp, sure, but mingling keeps us thriving.
We’re not here to hoard secrets; we’re here to build our toolbox (and network).
When we hoard instead of share, the craft stalls. Carpenters refusing to share trade tips with an apprentice—dentists not passing down their knowledge on filling cavities to dental students. That's just plain foolish. It's the same for us. Help those on the rise and ask for help from those above you.
Online, it’s easier than ever. A quick X thread or a virtual coffee can crack open insights you’d never stumble into solo. Offline, it’s grabbing a beer with the local crew. We rise faster together. The craft’s future—cleaner copy, smarter flows, happier users—hinges on us acting less like lone wolves and more like a pack.
