Feedback demands poise, not resistance
Feedback can sting—work ties to identity, and a critique feels personal. Still, there’s a right way to face it: remain poised and neutral. Don’t leap to agree or argue. That calm lets you listen sharp and clear, not scramble for a comeback. Got a hunch to push back? Feel it, but hold off. Instead, mirror their words: “So, you’re saying my prompts lack punch?” It keeps you grounded.
Give it time to sink in. Processing isn’t instant—it takes time to percolate.
Then, size up the source. Do they mean well? Are they trustworthy? Their lens—needs, values—shapes what they see. Remember, a solid point from a shaky voice can still hold water.
Feedback’s not a slap to the face; it’s a current to ride, smoothly and deliberately until you find your footing.
