Clarity, efficiency, consistency, and then beauty

When collaborating with a UX/product designer keep this framework in mind. First and foremost, clarity. Nail down what users need to do and make it plain as day.

Once it’s clear, shift to efficiency. Trim the fat—fewer clicks, sharper prompts. Users don’t want poetry; they want speed. Only then—when it’s clear and quick—do you chase consistency. Match it to the app’s vibe. If “Back” flips to “Return” mid-flow, folks blink twice. Sync it up.

Last comes the polish—making it look good, i.e., beauty. Fonts, design, flair—those land after the bones work.

Clarity cuts confusion; efficiency respects time; consistency builds trust; beauty hooks the eye. Collaboration thrives when you and the designer both honor the flow.
